Sarah Quinn Jones

Owner & Ballet Instructor

Sarah danced with the New Orleans Opera Ballet Co. and the Manhattan Festival Ballet in San Antonio, Texas. Studies brought her to Balanchine's School of American Ballet and the Robert Joffrey School and American Ballet Theatre in New York. In Europe she studied in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Paris, France. She served as the Assistant Director of Lake Charles Society and danced Principal roles with Ballet Joyeux. Sarah danced the first role of Sugar Plum Fairy in its production of Nutcracker in 1963. She opened her Ballet School in 1973. The school is the official school for Dance Theatre Southwest.

Meg Quinn

Ballet Instructor

Meg is a Principal dancer with DanceTheatre Southwest. She completed summer studies at the School of American Ballet in New York, the San Francisco Ballet School, and the Robert Joffrey Workshop in San Antonio. She graduated from LA Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Gambrelle DiGiglia

Pilates Instructor

Gambrelle was a Principal Dancer with Dance Theatre Southwest and a winter student at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Her summer studies include The School of American Ballet, NYC, and the Joffrey Workshop, San Antonio, TX. Gambrelle pursued a modeling career with Eileen Ford in NYC then switched to Elite Model Management in Paris, France. She has been a certified Balanced Body Pilates Instructor for 9 years and was employed at the Studio Club de Bagatelle in Neuilly, France. 

Jo Anna Gibbs

Ballet Instructor

Jo Anna began dancing at age 4. She danced until the age of 12, then took a break to study music. Jo Anna began dancing again in 2004 at University of Louisiana Monroe. Her major was dance performance. After an injury in 2006 she moved back to Lake Charles. She began to dance at Sarah's studio on and off for the next few years and she is looking forward to teaching a new generation of ballerinas.

Stephanie Blocker Potter

Ballet Instructor

Stephanie's love for ballet began in 1987 with her first Preschool Creative Dance Class taught by Sarah Quinn Jones. She continued her studies of dance and performing art at Santa Clara University. She has been teaching Creative Dance at The Ballet School since 2009.Stephanie has a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. 

Working with our youngest ballerinas fills my heart with such joy!  My goal for each new year is to introduce my tiny dancers to simple choreography, rhythm, and fundamental ballet terminology.  Most importantly, I hope they end the year loving ballet and ready to show off their new skills at recital!” -Stephanie

Yvette Ware

Tap Instructor

Yvette Ware is a teacher and graduate of the Glenda Hoselle School of Dance of Chalmette, Louisiana.  She began assistant teaching dance at the age of 15 and has taught tap dancing for Sarah Jones since 2004. Yvette received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and has worked in television in Lafayette and in New Orleans. Yvette has also worked in the Public Relations field and as an English teacher.

Cissy Guidry

Photographer & Coordinator

Cissy is our photographer. She has been taking photographs for years at the school.  She is present for all performances. Whether it be back stage or taking pictures, we don't know what we'd do without Cissy!

Juliet Emerson

Studio/Media Manager

Juliet  graduated from LSU with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. She currently manages and owns the Pet Emergency Clinic in Lake Charles
